A task in Calipso is called Item. Items exist under the context of a Space workflow. Users can view the history of an Item and get involved by entering comments, user details, status changes, dates etc. according to the Item's workflow and access rights configuration. Team collaboration is further enhanced with document management; Users can upload, review and distribute documents as part of an Item's workflow. Email integration allows an alternative way to submit and create an Item and provides notifications with role-aware history for the appropriate users.
Items can have dependencies and can even be moved to different space workflows. For example, a purchase request from a client within a space acting as a CRM tool can be transfered to the Procurement space in order for the necessary actions to be performed by the appropriate users. Item transfers between independent Calipso installations will also be available soon.
enlarge Create a New Item: Submit a task by creating a new Space Item. The information fields for the Item are defined by Space workflow configuration.
enlarge Updating a Task: Updating an Item is similar to creating it. The access rights for any role, as well as the next allowed workflow state are dependent on Space configuration.
enlarge Detailed History: A user may view the Item history before and after updating, according to the access rights of roles assigned to him.
enlarge Email Notifications: An Item update includes an editable email notification list. Emails include Item details and history according to recipient access rights. Email may also be used to submit new Items.
